Tell Me Your Dreams- Sidney Sheldon

Image
This book has engraved itself in my mind for a lifetime. I could not stop reading it for hours and when I finished it I could not properly sleep for at least two days. Don’t be scared, it’s not a horror book but kind of equivalent to one.It will give you goose bumps all over your skin and also underneath it. It is a story of a woman named Ashley Patterson, who is an introverted workaholic and her co-workers Toni Prescott, an outgoing singer and dancer, and shy artist Alette Peters and Ashley's father, Dr. Steven Patterson. The co-workers know virtually nothing about each other--until the three women are linked by a murder investigation that will lead to one of the most bizarre trials of the century. Ashley suddenly starts feeling that somebody is following her. She finds her house lights turned on when she returns from work, her personal effects in disarray, and someone has written "You will die" on her mirror with a lipstick. As fear grips her she decides to report

Half Girlfriend - Chetan Bhagat

So this is one of the popular ones and also one of my favourites. Though Chetan Bhagat did not put much of a lasting impression on me from his previous books but this one raised a lot of questions in my mind related to our Indian society, our thinking, our habits, our perceptions , our stereotypes and how we treat people who don’t know English like they should be born with the language already wired in their minds even if it is not their native language. It shows how much the colonial rule has affected us from generations and still persists in our minds. How English speaking people hold the superiority on us than hindi speaking ones and how English still rules us not physically, but mentally. The story starts off with a Bihar boy who is the prince of Dumraon ,a small village in Buxar . Being a good basketball player he gets admission into St.Stephen's(Delhi University) through sports quota. He meets , actually sees a girl at the trials for admission named Riya Somani and in

False Impressions - Jeffrey Archer

So this is my first post so guys be a little supportive and constructive criticism is always appreciated. So I read this book last week it felt very intriguing from the synopsis at the back of the book but somewhere in between it loses the charm it creates for its readers in the start. The book kind of catches up in pieces in between the story but overall the impact kind of dries out. But you definitely find Jeffrey Archer and his style all too alive in the book, his choice of words, molding situations and throwing off great story punches in between. But the ending is all too predictable with some changes, but you get to know how it is going to end in the first 100-150 pages. Lets analyze some of the main characters of the book- 1.Anna Petrescu- She is the protagonist of the book , with a sharp, photographic mind and cerebral quality , she is a delightful character throughout the book. She came to me as a kind-hearted person who does not want evil to prevail and would correct
